Playtech launches bingo network for Italy
Published on Apr 13, 2010

Online gaming software provider Playtech has launched its Italian online bingo network in real money mode.

The company says its latest venture has been designed to fully comply with Italy’s gaming authority, the Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato (AAMS). Playtech already has a presence in the Italian market, where it operates its iPoker.it network.

The launch of the bingo network in real money mode follows several successful months of operation in fun mode.

The company highlighted that the revamped bingo client is designed to truly replicate the community atmosphere of a land-based bingo hall, and allows players to configure their own personal settings, from caller voice and speed to autodaub and animation.

Companies like Playtech and Microgaming are gearing up to capitalise on opportunities expected to arise from the further opening up of the Italian market in the months to come. Last month, Microgaming announced the launch of its new poker network dedicated to the Italian market.

“Italy is an important region for the future of gaming in Europe, as it has set the standard for other countries wishing to introduce gaming regulations; it is a crucial gateway for further EU expansion,” Roger Raatgever, CEO, Microgaming, had said at the time of launch.
